Framingham, MA - Massachusetts State Trooper Matthew Daigle, age 31, died Wednesday while he was exercising off-duty.
According to WCVB, Trooper Daigle was exercising when he suffered a medical emergency. He was transported to Framingham Union Hospital where he later died.
State Police Colonel Rick McKeon said "Trooper Daigle was highly-regarded and deeply respected by his brother and sister troopers, as well other members of the first-responder community who knew him." He also thanked all of the first responders and the medical personnel that tried to save Trooper Daigle's life.
Trooper Daigle was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He became a Trooper with the 80th Recruit Training Troop in 2011. He was assigned to the Framingham Barracks as a member of the Division of Field Services.
He is survived by his wife, Christine, his sister, and his father. Funeral arrangements are pending.
