Rothschild, WI - Everest Metropolitan Police Detective Jason Weiland was murdered on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, along with three other people in three separate but connected shootings.
According to WSAW, two women, Dianne Look, 67, and Karen Barclay, 62, were shot and killed at the first location, Marathon Savings Bank. The two women were bank employees.
A third woman, Sara Quirt Sann, 43, was killed at a Schofield law firm, the second location. She was an attorney.
Detective Weiland was shot and killed at the third location, the Aspen Street Apartments, where police were in a stand-off with the barricaded suspect.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, has been taken into custody. His condition is not known.
Everest Metro Police Detective Jason Weiland, age 40, was a 15-year veteran of the agency. He worked there as a Field Training Officer and also on a task force that investigated Internet crimes against children.
Detective Weiland previously worked for the Marathon Police Department as a narcotics detective, and as a corrections officer with Marathon County. He had a total of 18 years experience as a law enforcement officer.
He was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan, and is survived by his wife and two children.
Everest Metro Police Chief Wally Sparks said "I would like to send all my thoughts and ask everybody listening, ‘Thoughts and prayers to all the victims and their families."
