Orlando, FL - Miami Police Officer Orlando Machado, age 38, Sunday, May 21.
According to the Miami-Herald, Officer Machado was rushed to the hospital after the aneurysm occurred on Friday, May 19. He remained on life support until Sunday when he died.
He patrolled the Coconut Grove area, and had been with the Miami Police Department for less than five years.
Officer Machado leaves behind his wife and two children.
Miami Police Department Acting Chief Luis Cabrera said "He was a dedicated and committed officer." He also said "Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and we've lost a member of our own family."
