Forest Hill Police Officer Naquirra Williams was shot outside a local gas station early Wednesday morning.

Forest Hill, TX – A Forest Hill police officer was shot early Wednesday morning by a suspect who then stole her patrol vehicle and led officers on a 10-mile pursuit.

Forest Hill Police Officer Naquirra Williams was shot near a 7-Eleven and Shell gas station in the 6600-block of Forest Hill Drive at approximately 2:30 a.m., WFAA reported.

After shooting the officer, the gunman jumped into Officer Williams’ patrol vehicle and sped down U.S. Highway 287.

The suspect eventually crashed the cruiser at the Interstate 30 ramp in Fort Worth, WBAP reported.

At least one additional shot was fired, but it is unclear whether the round was fired by police or the suspect.

The gunman was found dead inside the patrol vehicle, KXAS reported.

Officer Williams was rushed to John Peter Smith Hospital by a fellow officer, Forest Hill Police Chief Dan Dennis told WFAA.

Although she suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and will need surgery, “she is stable and in good spirits,” Chief Dennis said.

Officer Williams is expected to make a full recovery.

The chain of events preceding the officer being shot have not been released. The front doors of the gas station were shattered and had two gaping holes in them, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Fort Worth police and the Tarrant County shooting team is assisting in the investigation, which is being handled by the Texas Rangers, WFAA reported.

“My prayers are with Forest Hill police officer Naquirra Williams, her family, and her loved ones as she recovers at John Peter Smith Hospital,” Texas Senator Beverly Powell tweeted on Wednesday morning.

Good riddance to the POS who shot the officer....BEST THING THAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO HIM...at least NOW taxpayers won't have to support his ass and worry if some LIBERAL JUDGE will turn the POS loose....

I have said many times here... women officers should never patrol without a male partner. For those of you who are female and feel you are badass enough, you are not. It's not misogyny, it's biology.
