New York City - Now-former CBS Vice President, Hayley Geftman-Gold, has filed a police report with NYPD over online harassment that she's received since her post about victims of the Las Vegas shooting went viral.
In her original Facebook post, she stated that she had no sympathy for the victims of the horrific attack.
CBS was then contacted and responded to the comments made by their executive.
“If they wouldn’t do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs [sic] will ever do the right thing. I’m actually not even sympathetic bc [sic] country music fans often are Republican gun toters [sic].” Geftman-Gold wrote in a now-deleted message according to The Daily Caller.
A CBS spokeswoman told Fox News that Hayley Geftman-Gold would be out of a job after her comments.
“This individual, who was with us for approximately one year, violated the standards of our company and is no longer an employee of CBS. Her views as expressed on social media are deeply unacceptable to all of us at CBS. Our hearts go out to the victims in Las Vegas and their families,” a CBS spokeswoman told Fox News.
Hayley Geftman-Gold isn't alone in her feelings. People have been posting somewhat similar messages on social media.
One Facebook user posted:
Let me be honest. When I first heard about this Vegas shooting I was sad af! Especially since I'm literally moving there in 2 weeks. But then I found out the details and I'm not really bothered by it anymore. This attack occurred at a Country Music Festival. It was occupied by mostly Trump supporters.
As We all know Trump supporters don't give a damn about us (black folks and others that support us) so why tf would I give a damn about them? The shooter was a white male age 64 with no known mental illness. Maybe in his head he was taking out his ppl he felt Were evil and a detriment to Our Society? idk.. I'm just not hurt. #myopinion #dontague
