Deputy Takes Trooper's Patrol Car With Friends, Then The Drinking Starts

An Iron County Sheriff's Office deputy saw the trooper's patrol car and launched his bizarre plan.

Crystal Falls, Mich. - An Iron County deputy has submitted his letter of resignation after he allegedly took a Michigan State Trooper's patrol car and went on a joyride with friends and booze.

The incident occurred March 8 after a trooper collided with a deer with his patrol car, according to WLUC.

The trooper took the vehicle to Northland Automotive and Powersports in order to get the damage repaired.

Deputy Anthony Silva said he was at Northland Automotive and Powersports that night and decided to play a joke on the trooper.

According to WLUC, the deputy told investigators that he and two passengers drove the patrol car fast around Iron River and that he had three or four beers over two hours, and his passenger was drinking in the patrol car.

It's estimated that the patrol car was driven for about two miles.

After the investigation, Deputy Silva submitted a letter of resignation with two week notice. His last day will be Tuesday.

No charges have been announced at this time, but the Iron County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing the incident for potential criminal charges.

Well this is just embarrassing. Who are his parents and why did they do such a poor job raising him?

This asshat truly felt entitled to drive that car and drink booze while doing so. That "deputy" should be criminally charged for the offense. He demonstrated a reckless and depraved disregard for the law, the Sheriff's Office AND the State Police and the citizens on the road.

With the sentiment being so bad as it is now we really need to have a dumbass like this making things worse.
Yes he needs to be charged. Why did he think it would be a joke on the trooper? The body shop was the responsible person at that time.
The drinking is what was driving him I believe.
I’m glad he is no longer in law Enforcement. He doesn’t deserve to wear the uniform. They should strip him of his badge and tear the emblems his uniform in a public ceremony like they used to do for deserters in the military.

If he claims he was raised by liberals he will just get a slap on the wrist.
Love the liberal outrage on this story though.

The only person dumber than this deputy may have been the person who hired him.

Not a DA worth his salts giving to chase that charge without PROOF that he was over the legal limit. Grand theft auto would be 10x more likely to compel a plea. However an internal investigation would almost likely cost him his badge, which was preempted by his resignation.

Marxshit, they have no evidence to use to convict. No police officer saw him driving. I'd explain the charging process for drunk driving but frankly you are not worth it. And he lost his career. Punishment enough for this dickhead.

Riiiiight, because that person could see into the future and knew the deputy would do something stupid.

Not really related to this article, but what is with the Michigan State Police and their emergency lighting? I know their single red light and "stop" sign on their hood is steeped in MSP history, but when are they going to put the safety of their officers ahead of their obsession with history. The emergency lighting on their cars is absolutely horrible.

The one smart and right thing he did was resign. You don't drink and drive period, and especially in a police vehicle. Glad his poor judgment was discovered before anyone got hurt.

How was that smart or the Right thing to do? If he was Fired it would be on his record, Now that he has resigned he is free to start a new.

I didn't say "he is a New Gypsy Cop". You did. Is it another liberal trick?
Please define "New Gypsy Cop".

Yep, sounds like liberals are infiltrating police departments. Just as suspected.

Political affiliation has nothing to do with wanting to be a cop.

John-Brown
John-Brown

Actually it does retard. Police are overwhelmingly conservative. Although I consider myself a libertarian, the only really liberal cops were lesbians and a few colored folk.

Hi_estComnDenomn

@John-Brown
No it doesnt. A conservative may be more inclined to be a cop, but being a cop doesn't mean you're conservative. You just said that yourself with your examples.

Correlation does not equal causation. Or did you miss that lesson in cop class?

H_C Dumbass I never said anything to the fact of political affiliation having anything to do with wanting to be a cop. Even you agree with that.
Actions define political affiliation clown.
