Deputy Takes Trooper's Patrol Car With Friends, Then The Drinking Starts

An Iron County Sheriff's Office deputy saw the trooper's patrol car and launched his bizarre plan.

Crystal Falls, Mich. - An Iron County deputy has submitted his letter of resignation after he allegedly took a Michigan State Trooper's patrol car and went on a joyride with friends and booze.

The incident occurred March 8 after a trooper collided with a deer with his patrol car, according to WLUC.

The trooper took the vehicle to Northland Automotive and Powersports in order to get the damage repaired.

Deputy Anthony Silva said he was at Northland Automotive and Powersports that night and decided to play a joke on the trooper.

According to WLUC, the deputy told investigators that he and two passengers drove the patrol car fast around Iron River and that he had three or four beers over two hours, and his passenger was drinking in the patrol car.

It's estimated that the patrol car was driven for about two miles.

After the investigation, Deputy Silva submitted a letter of resignation with two week notice. His last day will be Tuesday.

No charges have been announced at this time, but the Iron County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing the incident for potential criminal charges.

Well this is just embarrassing. Who are his parents and why did they do such a poor job raising him?

This asshat truly felt entitled to drive that car and drink booze while doing so. That "deputy" should be criminally charged for the offense. He demonstrated a reckless and depraved disregard for the law, the Sheriff's Office AND the State Police and the citizens on the road.

With the sentiment being so bad as it is now we really need to have a dumbass like this making things worse.
Yes he needs to be charged. Why did he think it would be a joke on the trooper? The body shop was the responsible person at that time.
The drinking is what was driving him I believe.
I’m glad he is no longer in law Enforcement. He doesn’t deserve to wear the uniform. They should strip him of his badge and tear the emblems his uniform in a public ceremony like they used to do for deserters in the military.

If he claims he was raised by liberals he will just get a slap on the wrist.
Love the liberal outrage on this story though.
