Crowley, LA - Crowley Police K9 Roscoe was murdered, and his handler, a Crowley Police Officer, was shot during an incident Wednesday night, March 22, 2017.
According to 97.3, Crowley Police Officers responded about 10:30 PM to a residence in the 400 block of Crowley Street. Witnesses told KSLA that the suspect was arguing with his girlfriend when he shot and killed her.
When Crowley Police Officers arrived, the suspect began shooting at them. K9 Roscoe was shot and died. His handler was also shot and was transported to a local hospital. He is listed in stable condition.
Police returned fire according to the witnesses and the suspect was shot; he died of acute lead poisoning.
The identity of the suspect is unknown. The name of the Crowley Police Officer has also not been released. Louisiana State Police were called to respond to the residence about 11:00 PM Wednesday night for an officer-involved shooting. They are conducting the investigation.
