Child Hospitalized After Teens Storm School Bus To Attack Elementary Students

Two middle school students, a high school student, and an 18-year-old non-student have been arrested for assault.

Decatur, GA – A Georgia elementary school student was hospitalized on Monday after a group of teens forced their way onto a bus and began assaulting the young students inside.

The incident occurred as the busload of elementary-aged children were on their way to school on Monday morning, WSB reported.

When the bus stopped on Hollyhock Terrace, two middle school students, a high school student, and an 18-year-old non-student barged their way inside.

“During the morning ride to school, a group of middle and high school student boarded the bus to assault an elementary school student,” Snapfinger Elementary School officials said in a voicemail to parents later that day, according to WSB.

Multiple children were assaulted during the altercation, Newsweek reported.

One child was rushed to Children’s Healthcare in Atlanta as a result of the attack, but the extent of his or her injuries have not been released, according to WXIA.

Police responded to the scene and arrested the teens on assault charges, WSB reported.

A potential motive for the attack has not been released.

Many parents were outraged that the school failed to notify them about the morning altercation until later in the day.

In the school district’s statement, it noted that the “safety and well-being” of students is its “top priority,” WSB reported.

Latrice Lewis said the incident further solidified her commitment to transport her children to and from school on her own.

“This is my kid's second week at school. This is ridiculous,” Lewis told WSB. “This is why I don't have my kids on the bus. I drive them to school and I drive them back home.”

Parent Alexis Clarke said the situation was “outrageous,” WSB reported.

“I think that's really bad and, if they did beat up some elementary school students, they definitely deserve to go to jail,” Clarke said.

Try them as ADULTS, (regardless of age) and put them away from a minimum of 10 yrs. Examples need to be made here.

Nauseating. Put the ANIMALS away for 5-10 years. Lessons desperately need to be taught in this nation. The “don’t punish anyone, they’re misunderstood, had a tough life” is helping NO ONE. They go to court, look sad, apologize and are told not to do it again. Then they walk out the door laughing at the judge. 😡😡😡😡😡

Beating up elementary school children...Damn shame that the bus driver didn't throw those punks off the bus and in the way of on-coming traffic.

How could there possibly be a "motive" for such a senseless, bullying act....what low lifes....what yellow bellied frauds cats...geeze....can we do some serious harm to them, please? Eye for an eye? Parents....this is definitely a call to arms for you to "PARENT YOUR CHILDREN"....and take responsibility for their insane actions! You brought it on them....with your "be my friend" and "do nothing" attitudes...and glossing all over with money...I am sure....

They should be treated as adults, put in Jail For a couple of months, maybe they’ll learn something. Stop letting them get away with it, & let them know they’ll get jail time.

The worse I endured on the school bust was a girl sitting next to me showing her panties. Actually, I think I may have asked for a second look.

You are absolutely right, this all starts in the home. I bet everyone of of them has a dead beat dad. The moral decay in America is why these thugs have no respect for human life, they will shoot a police officer in a heart beat, and if they want your money or vehicle, they will try and take it. This is why I carry a concealed weapon, I won't be a victim!

The prosecutor will not doing anything “because they’re minors” and they’ll feel emboldened and end up killing someone as young adults and spend their lives living off the government in prison.
