BREAKING: Two Officers Shot In New Orleans

Two New Orleans police officers were shot on Tuesday night, and police are still searching for the second suspect.

New Orleans, LA – Two New Orleans police officers were shot in New Orleans East on Tuesday night and one of the suspects is still on the loose.

The incident occurred at about 9:30 p.m. on April 14 near Interstate 10 and Bullard Avenue in New Orleans East, according to WDSU.

Police have set up a perimeter around the area in the 7th District when they shootings occurred, WBRZ reported.

A New Orleans Police Department spokesperson said that one suspect was in custody and officers were searching for the other, WDSU reported.

The wounded officers were transported to University Medical Center.

Both officers’ wounds were thought to be non-life-threatening, according to WDSU.

Officials have not released the names of the wounded officers, nor any specific information about their injuries.

Officials have asked that residents avoid the area around Morrison Road and Bullard Avenue as police search for the suspect who fled, WAFB reported.
