BREAKING: Two Falmouth Officers Shot

Two Falmouth police officers were shot on Friday afternoon.

Falmouth, MA – Two police officers were shot while responding to a disorderly call Friday afternoon at a home on Ashley Drive in the Seacoast Shores development in East Falmouth, WCVB reported.

Sources said that one of the officers had been shot in the back of the head, NECN reported.

South Shore Chatter reported that the other officer was shot in the chest and stomach.

Both officers were being transported to local hospitals. There was no word yet on their conditions.

Massachusetts State Police said a suspect had also been shot during the incident and had also been transported, according to NECN.

Two people were airlifted, and a MedFlight helicopter was seen landing at Falmouth Hospital, Cape Cod Daily News reported.

Residents have been told to shelter in place, and everybody else has been asked to avoid the area for the foreseeable future, according to Cape Cop Daily News.

Massachusetts State Police said their patrol, tactical, investigative and forensic units were responding to Falmouth to assist local police, WCVB reported.

It’s been a very difficult month for law enforcement in Massachusetts. These shootings come a week after the funeral of Weymouth Police Sgt. Michael Chesna, who was murdered responding to a call for an erratic driver.

UPDATE:

Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O'Keefe updated reporters on the condition of the officers. The officer who was grazed by a bullet in the back of his head has already been treated and released.

O'Keefe said that other officer was shot in the vest and just above the vest. His family was with him at the hospital.

This is becoming out of hand. There should be an automatic death penalty for those killing our cops.

I am 75 years old and a retired Marine. I can recall teachers at all levels teaching respect for police officers. I am betting that doesn't happen today . Can not ask grandchildren, they are all homeschooled (6) and other two in a really rural school district in a conservative state. That son works for the TN State Police. He also is a Marine.

MA judges and DAs seem to always side with the defendants. They feel like they're the victims. Every few yrs they should be put in front of a panel and explain their decisions. There's no accountability for their poor and dangerous decisions. Police are constantly rearresting the same career criminals who become more desperate & dangerous with each crime they commit. Why do they continue to have so many opportunities to commit crimes to be career criminals. MA governor just passed a crime bill that further ties the hands of police. This shit has to stop now.

Prayers for the officers involved, their force, their friends and their families, and for all involved. There's a widely dispersed riot and insurgency going on; please, every officer: be right, be just, be safe! This Old soldier prays for y'all, every day. And, on a side note most of the restrictive gun laws the liberals and even some cops endorse are in place in Mass... doesn't seem to slow down the bad guys much, huh?
