Riverside, CA - At least three California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers were shot by a rifle-toting gunman Monday night.
The incident happened in the area of Box Springs Boulevard and Eastridge Avenue at around 6 p.m., according to ABC7.
The details behind the initial contact were not released, but a gunman with a rifle opened fire on the officers.
At least three CHP officers and the gunman were shot in the gunfight, according to ABC 7. The gunman has since succumbed to his gunshot wounds.
The conditions of the wounded officers have not been released but photos from the scene show a patrol car riddled with bullet holes.
UPDATE: One officer has succumbed to their injuries.
