BREAKING: Texas Officer Murdered

A San Marcos police officer was murdered Monday afternoon.

San Marcos, TX - A San Marcos police officer was murdered during a warrant service Monday afternoon.

The incident happened in the Cottonwood Creek subdivision when the officer arrived with a team of officers attempting to serve a warrant, according to KSAT.

The suspect opened fire on the officers and struck one officer multiple times. Officers returned fire and the suspect was also shot.

The officer was rushed to Central Texas Medical Center where he died.

The suspect was transported to an Austin-area hospital and his condition as not been released.

The identities of the officer and suspect have not been released at this time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the murdered officer and the San Marcos Police Department.

I think the "Suspect" should be dead! These guys open fire on uniformed (sitting duck) officers just trying to do their job! It is NOT OK to kill these guys. I wish we could hang them in the city square. P.S. This is not a race issue.. Cops are targeted by all races. I get angry when the officers die and the suspect survives.
