BREAKING: Spokane Deputy Shot In Colbert

Colbert, WA - A Spokane County Sheriff's deputy was shot late Monday night.

Spokane County SWAT was in an armed standoff with a domestic violence suspect at around 11:25 PM near Colbert Rd and Leslie Ln in Colbert. The SWAT team tried to take down the suspect with less-lethal measures. The suspect responded with extremely lethal measures, shooting a deputy. SWAT officers responded by throwing lead back at the suspect.

The unidentified suspect died on scene of acute lead poisoning. It's unknown at this time if the suspect killed himself or gunfire from the deputies took him out.

The unidentified SWAT deputy was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive.
