A gunman opened fire on Monday morning on a Greyhound bus going from Los Angeles to San Francisco.

Kern County, CA – Six people were wounded on Monday morning when a gunman opened fire on passengers traveling on a Greyhound bus that was going from Los Angeles to San Francisco.

California Highway Patrol Spokesman Steve Loftus said that police began receiving calls from frantic passengers reporting an “active shooter” at about 1:30 a.m. as the bus was driving north on Interstate 5, NBC News reported.

Loftus said there were about 40 people on the bus that had departed Los Angeles an hour earlier.

The driver stopped the bus at the next exit in Grapevine, south of Bakersfield, after the shooting erupted, according to NBC News.

He pulled into a Valero gas station near Lebec and that was where the Kern County Sheriff’s Office and fire department responded.

Fort Tejon California Highway Patrol Spokesman Rich Anthes told Global News that the gunman was a passenger on the bus.

He said police do not yet know a motive for the shooting.

Information on the victims was not yet available, and Anthes said he could not confirm the number of victims nor what condition they were in when they were transported to the hospital, although initial reports said the gunshot wounds ranged from moderate to major, Global News reported.

Police have said the gunman was taken into custody, but details of his apprehension are unclear.

“The situation is stable and there is no threat,” Anthes said.

One woman who was on the bus when the passenger started shooting posted on social media that she woke up to people screaming and thought she was going to die, the Daily Mail reported.

“I’m okay. Just was on my way to San Francisco shooting happened on the Greyhound,” she tweeted. “I suffer from Vegas tragic couple years and I was asleep [sic] and a guy talking so loud and started firing 7-9 round and happened so fast I thought that was the end.”

Allow CC Nationwide. It's a constitutional right.

Cop Watch

and in future news....... Greyhound will start enforcing TSA screening checkpoints at all bus stops.

so why are the cops NOT crucifying the shooter on the media yet? maybe because it was a cop with the "i feared for my life" excuse. now we have to wait for the piggy's PR spin machine to put out some bogus story with twisted facts. (only to have the story change 3-4 times)

Another good reason for CCW and allowing qualified citizens to carry a firearm! The shooter could have been dead quickly!

A good Samaritan with a gun could've stopped this from happening. The 2nd Amend is crucial against criminals who have no value for human lives&always obtain guns illegall. It really is a battle of good vs evil&if we are not allowed to posses a gun to protect ourselves,we will see more of them doing this. My prayers to all affected by this terrorism.🙏🙏🙏🙏
