BREAKING: Raleigh Officer Shot In Face, Suspect On The Loose

A Raleigh police officer was shot in the face Wednesday night.

Raleigh, NC - A Raleigh police officer was shot in the face Wednesday night and a suspect is still on the run.

The shooting happened on Teakwood Place near Deboy Street at around 8 p.m. according to WRAL.

A backup officer transported the wounded officer to WakeMed in their patrol car.

One suspect has been taken into custody, but a second suspect is still on the run.

A massive manhunt is in progress for the second suspect.

The condition of the officer has not been released.

Update He's out of surgery. He was shot multiple times, but hopefully will be ok. Raleigh Police Department identified Cedric Kearney, 24, and Antonio Fletcher, 21 in connection with the shooting. Officials said one of the suspects was hiding in a shed off Wendy Lane.The men are believed to have been in the car Ainsworth was investigating on Western Boulevard.
