Flint, MI - An airport police officer at Bishop International Airport was stabbed Wednesday morning, prompting an evacuation of the airport.
MLive reports that the officer was stabbed in the neck and is in critical condition following the attack. A witness told MLive that they saw the suspect detained with a knife nearby and an officer on his knees bleeding from the neck.
The entire airport has been evacuated at this time and nobody else was reported being injured.
Governor Rick Snyder issued a statement over Twitter which said, "As we wait to learn more about the incident at Bishop Airport, please keep the attacked officer in your thoughts & prayers."
MSP reports that the FBI is handling the investigation and that the airport will remain closed until further notice.
UPDATE: Lt. Jeff Neville was identified as the officer stabbed in what is being investigated as a terrorist attack.
