BREAKING: Phoenix Police Commander Murdered, Two Other Officers Shot
Phoenix, AZ - A Phoenix Police Department commander was murdered in the line of duty by a domestic violence suspect and two other officers were shot.
The incident started at a residence near 40th Avenue and Pinnacle Peak Rd at around 7 p.m., according to ABC15.
Police were called to an argument between roommates, and Commander Greg Carnicle, Officer Marissa Dowhan, and Officer Alicia Hubert responded to the call.
Upon arrival, the three officers contacted an uncooperative roommate. That roommate then shot all three officers.
Commander Carnicle did not survive. Officers Dowhan and Hubert are expected to recover.
The suspect is still barricaded in a home as of 10:40 p.m. and SWAT has the house surrounded. The suspect has continued to shoot at the police drone, according to CBS5.
UPDATE: The suspect was fatally shot.
