BREAKING: Off-Duty Lemoore Police Officer Murdered At Birthday Party

An off-duty Lemoore police officer was fatally shot at a birthday party on Saturday night.

Fresno, CA – A Lemoore police officer was murdered off-duty on Saturday night when he tried to stop a friend who was in the middle of committing an act of domestic violence.

The incident occurred at a birthday party for 58-year-old Ramiro Trevino Sr. at about 9 p.m. on Nov. 2 in a home in the 8000-block of Eddy Street, just outside Hanford, the Hanford Sentinel reported.

Kings County sheriff’s deputies said 32-year-old Ramiro Trevino Jr. was fighting with his girlfriend when his father, Trevino Sr., and a friend tried to intervene, KFSN reported.

Detectives said Trevino Sr. and his son’s friend, off-duty Lemoore Police Officer Jonathan Diaz, were able to help the girlfriend get to safety.

Then Trevino Sr. and Officer Diaz tried to talk the agitated Trevino Jr. down.

That’s when Trevino Jr., armed with more than one gun, opened fire on his father and Officer Diaz, KFSN reported.

Officer Diaz was fatally shot and Trevino Sr. was seriously wounded.

At that point, Trevino Jr. turned the gun on himself and took his own life, KFSN reported.

Kings County Sheriff's Commander Mark Bevens said Trevino Sr. was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia, where he remains in critical condition, KGPE reported.

Trevino Jr. was a Kings County welfare fraud investigator, the Hanford Sentinel reported.

Officer Diaz was a friend of Trevino Jr. and was present to celebrate Trevino Sr.’s birthday off-duty when he was killed.

Lemoore police have not yet made a statement regarding the incident, nor confirmed Officer Diaz’s identity or death; however, multiple local media outlets have confirmed the incident and the off-duty officer’s identity.

Very sad. Hope they give him full line of duty benefits. I’m guessing alcohol was a contributing factor. Alcohol and guns are never a good combination.

Sorry to hear this happen but he should have known what kind of man and friend he was. He could not tell he was carrying two gun on him during the argument. This man had these issues before to elevate higher on this night. Again sorry for the family lost but paint a picture where the reader can fully understand.

I wonder whether more rigorous gun-control law, at the federal level, would have prevented this tragedy. Because Blue Lives Matter!

I thought ANtifa is now a terrorist organization, why didn’t they charge him as a terrorist? Does that carry a longer sentence?
