BREAKING: NC Trooper Shot In Face, Suspect On The Run

A trooper has been shot in Wilson County.

Wilson County, NC - A North Carolina State Highway Patrol trooper was shot Monday evening.

The details about what led up to the shooting have not been released at this time.

Scanner traffic indicates that the trooper was shot in the face on Highway 42 E near Bridgersville Rd.

Pitt County Sheriff's office tweeted that the trooper was transported to the hospital, and the suspect is still on the run.

The condition of the trooper has not been released at this time.

No other suspect information has been released at this time.
