BREAKING: Missouri Officer Shot, Bystander Livestreams The Wounded Officer

A North County police officer has been shot in Wellston.

Wellston, MO - A North County Cooperative police officer was shot during an incident in Wellston Sunday afternoon.

The aftermath of the shooting was livestreamed on Facebook.

The incident started at the Wellston Food Market just after 4:30 p.m., according to KMOV.

The witness filming the livestream said that the officer was wrestling with a suspect in the market when the suspect pulled out a gun and shot him.

The livestream showed concerned witnesses around the wounded officer apparently trying to call for help while the officer lay on the ground.

The officer has now been transported to Barnes-Jewish Hospital. His condition and identity have not been released at this time.

No information about the suspect has been released at this time.
