BREAKING: Man With Rifle Shoots Two Officers, Hijacks DART Bus

Two police officers were shot on Sunday in Garland, Texas.

Garland, TX - Two police officers were shot as a man armed with a rifle hijacked a DART bus and led police on a pursuit.

The incident started Sunday at around 11 a.m. in Richardson, according to WFAA.

A man armed with a rifle opened fire while hijacking a Dallas Area Rapid Transit bus.

The suspect then ordered the bus driver to lead police on a pursuit through Garland. The pursuit ended at President George Bush Turnpike and Liberty Grove Road, according to WFAA.

The suspect was shot and taken into custody.

Sometime during the incident, a DART police officer and a Rowlett police officer were both shot.

The conditions of the officers and suspect have not been released at this time.

Update to the story. A DART officer was shot through the car door and through the thigh. A Garland Officer was shot through the collarbone, grazing his jaw.

31yo Ramon Thomas Villagomez was killed in the shootout with police. He was also wanted in connection to the stabbing death of his girlfriend in San Antonio.

Holy shit. He could have killed those two cops, especially the one he shot in the neck. I'm glad they're going to heal physically. And the bus driver. It really makes you think when his boss said this 65-year-old man went to work thinking the worst danger he would face was the coronavirus, and then this happened. I hope he and the female passenger will be okay.
It ended well for the shooter.
