Westlake, CA – Two students were shot by another student on Thursday morning at Castro Middle School in Westlake.
Officer Drake said the call came from inside Castro Middle School, located on the campus of Belmont High School.
LAPD Detective Meghan Aguilar said the suspect had a weapon when she was arrested.
Police said the two students, a boy and a girl, may have been shot in a classroom. Both victims were being treated by paramedics and their conditions were unknown.
Authorities said the situation was under control, but news helicopter footage showed officers still searching students up against a wall of the school building, and releasing them one at a time.
