Murray, KY - An explosion took out a large part of a Murray State University dorm building Wednesday evening. There is one confirmed person injured at this time.
The injured person is a school employee and is in stable condition, according to WPSD. That employee was transported to the Murray Calloway County Hospital.
The explosion happened at the New Richmond dorm. The cause has not been confirmed but it is believed to be a gas leak.
University Advancement Vice President Adrienne King says that the explosion happened at 4:53 PM.
First responders are on scene investigating.
