Bear, DE - A Delaware State Trooper was gunned down at a Wawa convenience store.
The trooper, whose identity was not immediately released, was shot just after noon off the Pulaski Highway in the town of Bear.
NY Post reports, Clarence Travers, told DelmarvaNow said he was sitting at a red light on the Pulaski Highway when he heard gunfire and saw the trooper fall to the ground. The man then got out of his are and shot the trooper repeatedly while he was down on the ground. The suspect then fled on foot.
Another witness said that they say the trooper face-down on the ground and that people nearby rushed over to give him CPR.
There has been no official word on the condition of the trooper, who was Christiana Hospital.
A massive manhunt is underway for the suspect, who is not in custody at this time. Sources have told CBS Philly that the suspect may be barricaded at this time
All area schools have now been placed on lockdown.
The Appoquinimink School District posted on facebook, “We have been notified by police that an armed individual is in the Dove Run Shopping Center. The police have set up a perimeter. As a precaution, ALL area schools have gone on lockdown.”
The University of Delaware Police said in a Facebook post, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Delaware State Police during this time. Please keep the Officer who was injured in your prayers.”

UPDATE: The suspect is now firing at officers from a house in the 500 block of St. Michaels Drive in the Brick Mill Farm Development.
