Fulton County, GA - At least one person is dead, and at least two people are in critical condition following a church bus rollover in Georgia.
The bus carrying 38 people, mostly high school students, rolled over Camp Creek Parkway at Merk Road just after 4 PM.
The bus was from Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama. The church's minister of education, Terry Slay identified the passengers as mostly 11th and 12th grade students, according to 11 Alive.
"We know there was a wreck, some injuries. Some critical," Slay said. "That’s all we know right now, we’re trying to get more information.”
The church posted the following message to Facebook:
"PRAY! One of the buses with the student ministry mission had an accident on the way to the Atlanta airport. Several serious injuries. Please pray for those injured and parents as they travel to Atlanta."
At least nine people have been hospitalized, according to WSBTV, with 21 more injured treated on scene.
The bus is believed to have not had any seat belts, as these buses are exempt from seat belt laws.
Please pray for these injured children and their families.
