Las Vegas, NV - A man shot two people on a Las Vegas bus Saturday morning, locking down the strip for over four hours during a standoff with police.

The shooting occurred on a bus on S. Las Vegas Blvd between Flamingo and Harmon. The shooter shot two people, killing one, and injuring another.

News 3 Las Vegas reports that after the shooting, the suspect remained on the bus for hours while he was surrounded by tactical teams and negotiators who worked to talk him down. During negotiations, the suspect opened fire again but police did not return fire.

The suspect eventually surrendered and was taken into custody.

The shooting appears to be random and unprovoked. Las Vegas Metro PD said that this incident was not related to terrorism and was unrelated to today's earlier armed robbery at the Bellagio.

"He was on the second floor of the bus and started shooting at passengers," Assistant Sheriff Tom Roberts said. "He was delusional and talked about seeing people, so he was definitely not with it and suffered some mental health issues."

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.
