Armed NFL Player Gets Taken Down With Taser In Fight With Cops

Police say that they used a Taser on Daryl Worley after he became combative.

Philadelphia, PA – Police say that National Football League (NFL) player Daryl Worley was found passed out inside his vehicle with a gun, and fought the cops when they found him.

Worley, a defensive back with the Philadelphia Eagles, was arrested at 6 a.m. Sunday with an unregistered gun in his possession, according to WPVI-TV.

During the incident, Worley became combative with police and was Tasered, according to the NFL Network.

Worley, who had a salary of $650,000 for 2018, was being held at Philadelphia police headquarters on Sunday, according to WPVI.

The Philadelphia Eagles announced on Twitter they were releasing Worley with a tweet at 5:32 p.m. April 15: “Roster Move: #Eagles have released CB Daryl Worley.”

Worley grew up in North Philadelphia but won’t get a chance to play for his hometown Eagles.

Fortunato Perri, the attorney for Worley, spoke to WPVI after speaking with his client on Sunday.

"It's a very unfortunate situation, he hasn't had an opportunity," said Perri. "He can maintain his career."

This wasn’t Worley’s first brush with the law.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Worley entered a no-contest plea in 2014 to misdemeanor assault and was given a six-month suspended sentence for an altercation with a woman outside a West Virginia bar.

At the time of that 2014 incident, Worley said he was defending his girlfriend.

“It was a simple situation where it was wrong place at the wrong time. There [was] nothing malicious about the incident,” Worley said, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer. “All 32 teams have seen the videotape. They have the official court documents which I gave to them where there was nothing malicious about it.

Worley was a third-round draft pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2016 after playing college football at West Virginia. Worley came to the Eagles in March when the Eagles traded Torrey Smith to Carolina.

Racist? No, you would be the racist on calling the commentator out because nowhere did he imply it was because he was black. It's his thuggish ways not the color of his doin. You can bet your ass if the same happened to a white guy you wouldn't open your mouth. But because he broke the law and was black and got caught now you and others will cry foul. Anybody of any color can be a thug. This one just happens to be black
