Armed Burglar Breaks Into Baltimore Officer's Home - Officer Smokes Burglar With His Own Gun

An off-duty police officer woke up after the burglar confronted him, disarmed him, and fatally shot him.

Baltimore, MD - A burglar is dead after he broke into a Baltimore police officer's home Monday morning.

The incident occurred at around 11:30 AM in the officer's home, which is located in the Frankford neighborhood in northeast Baltimore, according to the Baltimore Sun.

The officer, whose name was not released, had been sleeping, and the armed burglar woke him up and confronted him.

Police said that the burglar demanded money from the officer, who started wrestling with the suspect over the gun.

The officer was able to take the gun away from the suspect, and then fatally shot the burglar with the gun that he had just taken away from him.

The officer, who was not injured, called 911 to report the shooting. He was home alone when the incident occurred.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he died.

Police said that the investigation is ongoing, and the weapon has been recovered. No details were released on how the burglar gained entrance to the officer's home.

Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin Davis and other top police officials responded to the scene.

There was no body-cam video of the incident, since the officer was at home and off-duty.

Baltimore Police Capt. Jarrod Jackson said, "What makes this investigation different from other police-involved shootings is that the police officer in this incident was the victim of a burglary.

"He wasn’t working. He didn’t have his body-worn camera on. He wasn’t responding to a call for service."

The incident occurred just days after Baltimore City Council President Bernard Young accused Baltimore officers of "raping the city," for not living within the city limits.

A council committee has now approved a $2500 tax credit for officers who move into the city.

Thank the Lord the officer is okay. For the act of violating the sanctity of ones home in this act of terror, the punishment received was indeed just.

I'm sure the BLM supporters will be camping out in front of the officer's home as soon as his name is released.

Break out the popcorn, sodas and chairs...wait for it...wait for it...

And the council wonders why a lot of the officers live outside the city? Good job, officer! You took out the trash.
