Antifa Whines About Mugshots Being Posted After Months Of Doxxing Conservatives

Antifa supporters were angry that the Berkeley police posted the mugshots of protesters who were arrested on Twitter.

Berkeley, CA – Antifa supporters have complained about the Berkeley Police Department posting mugshots on Twitter of the 20 people who were arrested on Sunday when protesters attacked police and city vehicles during a march by conservative groups.

Berkeley PD has refused to remove their tweets that included booking photos, names, ages, hometowns, and crimes alleged to have been committed by the arrestees, Newsweek reported.

In a press release posted on Sunday evening, the police department said the list of people arrested at the protest was only “partial” and said police were still working to confirm the identities of some of those who had been arrested.

Berkeley police said “extremists” had thrown explosives at Berkeley police and Alameda County sheriff’s deputies. Three members of the public were treated by the Berkeley Fire Department, according to the press release.

“There was significant damage to City property: An extremist element amongst a large group marched westbound by the Berkeley Way parking lot, smashing 21 city vehicles and slashing City vehicle tires, and setting one City vehicle on fire. Three minor dumpster fires were extinguished,” the police department posted.

Critics of the police department posting the mugshots claimed it was an effort to publicly shame those individuals.

“This is very disturbing,” University of California law professor Veena Dubal told The Guardian.

“It seems like a public-shaming exercise, which is not the role of the police department ... They are making it really accessible for folks who might wish these people harm to locate them,” complained Dubal, who is a former Berkeley police review commissioner.

Civil rights organizations said they thought antifa activists had been targeted because none of those arrested appeared to be affiliated with the "patriot" groups who they were protesting.

Their assessment failed to acknowledge that the members of those organizations had not been throwing explosive devices at law enforcement or smashing in the windows of businesses.

The city of Berkeley announced ahead of the planned marches that no “weapons” or “anything … that can be used for a ‘riot’” would be permitted in the area. To the protesters’ horror, the city also banned the wearing of masks, The Guardian reported.

“It really seemed to us like the Berkeley police department was there to … target the anti-fascist protesters,” Jay Kim, executive director of the National Lawyers Guild’s local chapter, told The Guardian.

Kim claimed officers had been arresting protesters “at random” and for arbitrary reasons.

Interestingly, the same groups who have actively participated in doxing thousands of Homeland Security employees and many others strongly objected to having their faces shown to the public.

“It really indicates a complete lack of concern around people’s safety,” local activist Zoé Samudzi complained to The Guardian. “That’s a practice that I can’t even begin to wrap my head around … They have been really accommodating of fascists.”

Berkeley police have defended their actions and refused to take down the tweets.

“People are coming from out of town and bringing weapons and are committed to violence … We don’t want people to be able to do that with anonymity,” Berkeley Police Spokesman Byron White said.

Berkeley Mayor Jesse Arreguín said the police “did a very good job” handling the rally, but said he was thinking about what to do about the posting of mugshots on social media, FOX News reported.

“We need to look into this and discuss whether this is an appropriate practice going forward,” Arreguín said.

The Proud Boys (from this rally) base their group on the belief that Europeans (white people) created the modern world, ignoring every contribution of people of colour which had enormous and pivotal impacts. This of course invites White Supremacists, like the former Proud Boy who recently and randomly stabbed a black woman on the street, and the other alleged Proud Boy who showed up at her vigil to stir shit and (understandably) got the shit beat out of himself. These groups tend towards spreading White Supremacist propaganda under the guise of "Conservatism" which stirs violence against minorities and ends up pulling Conservatives (which Republicans no longer are, but that's another discussion) closer to White Nationalism. This, of course, is extremely dangerous for all non-white people.

Again, its not just the members of these organizations. The propaganda they normalize makes violent bigots far more bold in acting out their hatred. How is this good for police, especially when they have to deal with these incidents AND the ensuing outrage over them?

I agree that Anti-fa and BLM need to get all the facts before "outing" people as racists (the pool ID card incident being one major F-up), or as members of White Supremacist gangs (not sure of an incident they messed up on that one), but aligning yourself with these groups by drawing "us against them," really aligns yourself with a very dark agenda. I think it also makes it more difficult for police to go about their jobs with an unbiased outlook. That just makes it more difficult to be the noble heroes they try their best to be.

Anyway, my salute to the police who deal with the nastiest stuff life has to offer, and put themselves in danger for the protection of what's right and decent. I hope your influence as a stand-up human being continues to make the world a better place!

They have a problem after months of doxxing Conservatives. WOW! Doxing - Wikipedia Doxing (from dox, abbreviation of documents) or doxxing is the Internet-based practice of researching and broadcasting private or identifiable information (especially personally identifiable information) about an individual or organization.

Once again, Thank you to the People in Blue. GODD JOB!

Aw, poor babies. If their behavior is so justified as they claim then they should be will to do it with their faces exposed for everyone to see. The people are nothing but a bunch of bully cowards hiding behind masks and shut down free speech. Liberals seem to forget that free speech runs on both sides of the issue and just because you disagree doesn't mean you are right or that you can shut down someone who believes differently. Post their pictures every single time they are arrested!!

ANTIFA should be embracing the KKK. They’re both created by the Demoncrats. You can’t just say the KKK is a violent hate group when ANTIFA is the ones showing up with weapons and beating on any Tom, Dick or Susan. Besides, where was the actual naming of the KKK in the article? One named group being a prayer group is always a nazi kkk? All blacks and mulattos’ aren’t Black Panthers. They thought they were going to get away with it and it’s time the mask and hoods becomes illegal to wear in public. This is America. You do the crime, you pay your time

KKK, Nazi, Antifa, all the same thing. All worthless and all should be put down like the rabid dogs they are. They help no one. They improve nothing. They are just in the way of a civilized society. They all need to go.

They doxx members of violent White Supremacist groups. You guys seem a bit too happy that those members might get their revenge. Why exactly would you root for people who encourage the murder of innocent people over people who try to stand up against that violence? Is taking the side of vigilante hate groups really helping to advocate for the rights and lives of the noble police officers that this site was created to protect? You are only giving fuel to the fire of people who claim all police officers have racist agendas, just like the senseless vandalism of these members only hurts their efforts to shut down hate groups.
