Antifa Burns U.S. Flag At Protest, So Philly Officer Steps Up

Antifa burned an American flag during a protest on Saturday.

Philadelphia, PA - A small crowd of Antifa set a U.S. Flag on fire while marching in Philly on Saturday.

It's not clear if they were trying to co-opt the Women's March, but the Antifa crowd were said not to be involved in the Women's March, which has been peaceful for a second year.

SEPTA Police Chief Thomas J. Nestel III tweeted that the Antifa were at 16th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard when they set fire to the flag.

Philly police were forced to block traffic to keep people from running over the self-imagined badasses. But then an unidentified Philly officer walked over, saluted the burnt remains of the flag, and collected it for proper disposal.

Meanwhile, at the Women's March in Cambridge, MA, this happened:

I'm not sure if this is used by those who follow that "religion" but for you and you alone I suggest a game of Russian roulette. Let me know how it works out for you.

Actually, the right to be free from arrest for freedom of speech applies only to government agents. There is no protection between citizens, who are not acting as agents of the government, so long as the speech falls under the definition of "fighting words". Fighting words are not protected speech, not even from government agents. Consequently, if someone were to be so angry about the burning of the flag that they felt compelled to commit an immediate breach of the peace to stifle it, then the police would have no power to arrest for the breach of the peace, since the actions come after the utterance of fighting words! So, any of you who are sick and tired of flag burning America haters, just make them stop using the amount of force necessary to make your point! It's not illegal....in theory! You see, police are not allowed to arrest a flag burner, but they are not required to arrest any citizen that kicks the flag burner's ass! Besides, I would be happy to go to jail for throttling the crap out of an antifa zealot burning our flag!
