AMBER Alert: Police Set Up Roadblocks For 13 Year Old Abducted Outside Of Home
Lumberton, NC – The Federal Bureau of Investigation has issued an Amber Alert for a 13-year-old girl who was kidnapped from the front yard of her home on Monday morning.
Hania Noelia Aguilar is described as a Hispanic female who is five feet tall, and weighs 126 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.
She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt with flowers, WRAL reported.
Hania walked out of her Rosewood Mobile Home Park residence at 6:58 a.m. to start her aunt’s green 2002 Ford Expedition bearing South Carolina plate number NWS984, when she was approached by a man dressed in black, a family member told police, according to ABC News.
The suspect, who had a yellow bandana over his face, then forced the girl into the Expedition and sped away with the vehicle.
The stolen Expedition has peeling paint on the hood, and a Clemson sticker in the rear window.
Hania’s sister, eight-year-old Heylin Perez, told WRAL that her aunt told Hania not to go outside to start the vehicle, but that she did it anyway.
"She just got the keys and started to turn it on," Heylin told the news outlet. "And somewhere out of nowhere the man came in and took her away."
She said she heard her sister screaming as the man abducted her.
Police have established a tip line to help gather information, have been speaking with neighbors door-to-door, and were following up on 50 tips as of Monday night, ABC News reported.
Local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies are all assisting with the search for the missing teen, The Robesonian reported.
On Tuesday morning, North Carolina Highway Patrol troopers set up a roadblock on Elizabethtown Road, near the Rosewood Mobile Home Park, and showed drivers a poster of the missing girl, according to WHNS.
Some of the drivers were directed to an area nearby, where they spoke with detectives directly.
The FBI issued the Amber Alert poster in both English and Spanish.
Hania is an eighth-grader at Lumberton Junior High, WTVD reported.
Please help spread the word on social media, even if you aren't in the area, she was abducted over a day ago and could be anywhere.
