Lancaster County, SC - After an hours-long SWAT standoff on Monday, officers arrested Morgan Varn and Jonathan Robinson.

According to WSOC, deputies were called to a townhome on Sandal Brook Road in Indian Island on Monday at 11:20 PM when a man said that he was robbed at gunpoint.

Deputies arrived and found the victim outside. The victim told the deputies that Morgan Varn, 23, had invited him into her home. When he entered, he found Jonathan Robinson, 23, who was armed with a handgun. Varn threatened the victim with an ashtray and demanded the his cell phone and cash.

The victim was able to walk out and go to a neighbor's house to call for help.

The three deputies ordered everybody to come out of the house but Morgan Varn and Jonathan Robinson refused. SWAT and a negotiator were called to the scene and authorities obtained a search warrant for the residence.

The neighbors were evacuated as the SWAT team tried for hours to get the occupants to come out. Finally, Varn and another woman exited the residence, but Robinson refused to come out. The SWAT team then made entry into the residence and took Robinson in to custody.

“We had three people and a pistol inside that home and for hours did everything we could to get them to come out,” Lancaster County Sheriff Barry Faile told the media. “When they didn’t, we had to go in and get them. Fortunately, no weapons were discharged and nobody was hurt. That is the outcome we always want.”

Jonathan Robinson was booked into the Lancaster County jail on charges of armed robbery, kidnapping, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, and possession of a stolen pistol.

Morgan Varn was booked on charges of armed robbery, kidnapping and malicious injury to personal property.
