El Paso, TX - An active shooter attacked innocent shoppers at an El Paso Walmart at around 10 a.m. on Saturday, shooting at least 18 people from initial estimates.
The gunman is now in custody, according to NBC Chicago.
"There is no danger at this moment," El Paso Mayor Dee Margo announced. "Our hearts go out to those that have been injured, families of those who may have been killed.”
The mayor initially announced that police had captured three suspects, but police later announced that one person has been "detained" and one person is in custody.
Images from Walmart's surveillance footage have been released to the media. KTSM reported that they verified the authenticity of the images.
Authorities have also declined to confirm how many people have been killed.
Eighteen people were reportedly transported to the hospital after the shooting. KTSM reports that a police source told them that 18 people had been killed, but authorities have not verified this information.
No official information has been released at this time about the identity of the shooter or his motivation.
