Hero Down: Nevada DPS Parole And Probation Lt. Jorge Pierrott Dies Unexpectedly
Carson City, NV – Nevada Department of Public Safety Parole and Probation Lieutenant Jorge Pierrott died unexpectedly on April 3.
“We lay to rest the best man I have ever or will ever know,” his wife of 25 years, Lisa, wrote in a Facebook post. “He took care of people, investing himself wholly, dedicated, committed, courageous - giving all he had, leaving meager little for himself.”
Lt. Pierrott, 43, immigrated from Nicaragua to the United States with his parents when he was just a boy, according to his obituary.
“Jorge’s dream was to live a life of service, and he achieved that,” his obituary read.
Lt. Pierrott began his law enforcement career with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, and later joined the Nevada Department of Public Safety Parole and Probation.
Driven by his “commitment to education and law enforcement excellence,” Lt. Pierrott earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in public administration.
He also taught students at Western Nevada College and Truckee Meadows Community College for many years.
“Jorge was the embodiment of selfless dedication and service,” his obituary read. “He was admired for his noble character and gentle, patient wisdom.”
He and Lisa, who was also his high school sweetheart, are the parents of two sons, Ethan and Deagan.
Lt. Pierrott was “absolutely enamored” with his children, and they were “his greatest pride and joy,” his obituary read.
“He was always searching for opportunities to bring family, friends, and work-family together so he could highlight everything he found special about them, making sure others knew their great worth and that they were truly seen, appreciated, understood and loved,” according to his obituary.
In addition to his wife and sons, Lt. Pierrott leaves behind his parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and his law enforcement family, as well as many friends.
“[I] live in perpetual gratitude for the gift of Jorge in my life and his most precious gift of our sons who honor and love their father beyond words and beyond compare, as do I,” Lisa’s Facebook post read.
Lt. Pierrott will be laid to rest on Thursday.
