Williamsport, PA – Montgomery Borough Police Officer Angel McLaughlin died on Saturday, following battle with cancer.
The 46-year-old mother-of-two passed away at the Divine Providence Hospital, surrounded by her family, according to her obituary.
Officer McLaughlin, a five-year veteran-of-the-force, initially joined the Montgomery Borough Police Department (MBPD) as a part-time police officer.
During that time, she also worked as an emergency room technician – a position she held for 12 years.
Officer McLaughlin later served as a full-time officer at Lock Haven University.
“Being the true public servant, she had also helped at elderly homes, was an EMT for Jersey Shore, Citizens Hose Fire Company, provided home health care, worked at the Williamsport Hospital as a nurse’s aide and at the DUI Center,” her obituary read.
She continued to serve her community after being diagnosed with cancer two years ago, WNEP reported.
“Even through her battle with cancer, Officer McLaughlin was dedicated and committed to the job that she took so passionately,” the MBPD said in a press release. “May we all have the positivity and love of life, family, and friends that Angel had in her heart.”
Officer McLaughlin leaves behind her sons, Dalton and Collin, as well as her granddaughter, Emberlynn, according to her obituary.
She is also survived by her parents, brother, and nephew.
Officer McLaughlin will be laid to rest on June 8.
