Woman Knocks Down Officer With Her Car, Then Runs Him Over
by SandyMalonePolice said Connie Jeanene Davis intentionally ran over a Morristown police officer on Sunday afternoon.
Morristown, TN – A Tennessee woman is facing multiple charges after she intentionally ran over a police officer with her car on Sunday afternoon, leaving him seriously injured.
The incident occurred when Morristown Police Corporal David Klein responded to the scene of a domestic disturbance on July 8 at a property that Connie Jeanene Davis was refusing to leave, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
Cpl. Klein attempted to pull Davis from her car so that he could arrest her, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported.
That’s when Davis intentionally accelerated in reverse, knocking Cpl. Klein to the ground. She ran over him, the Morristown Police Department said in a news release.
Other officers were able to take Davis into custody while Cpl. Klein was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
The officer suffered head and leg injuries, and underwent surgery on Sunday evening, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel.
Cpl. Klein’s condition was not known on Monday but his injuries were believed to be non-life threatening, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Davis was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, evading arrest, and disorderly conduct, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported.
She remained in jail in lieu of a $300,000 bond, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported.

Jul 11, 2018 @Pat1978 Congrats on having a very articulate 5 year old who outsmarts his dad regularly! I have a newborn myself, how did you prepare your son?

Jul 11, 2018 @[Burgers Allday] only if she wasn't drunk or hadn't previously harmed anyone. Most bosses are not cool with that philosophy but I've done it in the right circumstances. The reason I mention bosses is that almost everyone feels pressure from their bosses, regardless of their line of work.

Jul 11, 2018 Letting her leave would have been much less costly for the taxpayers. One thing that I find that a lot of police officers don't understand is that often the safest course of action is to let the suspect leave. Especially in situations like this one where the suspect is not suspected of a serious crime. Someone mentioned that the officer acted in the spur of the moment, but, then, so did this "suspect." Moreover, it is the type of moment that the police officer should have thought about ahead of time as part of his training on how not to play stupid games and win stupid prizes.

Jul 11, 2018 @Pat1978 You're telling on yourself. Where did i mention race? I could have referred to her sex, and that women normally get the long end of the stick in domestic abuse situations. Or her age, which somehow everyone, including you, somehow makes her eligible to be crazy. Where was her mental health mentioned in this article? But since you mentioned racist, i guess that makes you a racist on this site.

Jul 11, 2018 @ByAnyMeansNecessary She should've been shot. No one cares that she's white like you and all the other cop haters are trying to suggest. She's old and crazy but she should've been shot in self defense by the officer (like Sam Dubose) though it's unlikely he had the opportunity.
