VIDEO: Armed Man Walks Through Beanbags, Taser, And Bullets And Keeps Coming

Los Angeles, CA - Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) released bodycam footage which shows officers hitting an armed man with beanbag rounds, Taser prongs, and bullets as he continued to come at officers (video below.)

The incident started June 20 when police received a 911 call from a woman who reported that a man had stabbed his wife, and the victim's intestines were hanging out of her body, according to LAPD.

Officers arrived and confronted Alen Alpanian, 53, in front of his house.

Alpanian was armed with a 12-inch knife and refused officers' commands. He then began to walk toward officers while brandishing the knife.

Officers shot Alpanian with beanbag rounds in an attempt to stop him. Beanbag rounds are shotgun rounds which contain metal balls inside of a sock which prevent them from penetrating the body. The rounds are meant to be a less-lethal way to stop somebody by causing intense pain and tissue damage.

The beanbag rounds had little effect and Alpanian kept walking toward officers.

An officer then risked getting within lunging distance of Alpanian in an attempt to tase him. The officer deployed his Taser but it had no apparent effect.

Alpanian got within 10 feet of officers and an officer fired his duty weapon six times at the armed man.

Despite being shot, Alpanian kept coming forward before finally falling to the ground.

The suspect survived his injuries, and was hospitalized.

Both Alpanian and his wife are in stable condition.

Alpanian's criminal history includes a prior assault with a deadly weapon from 1998.

He has been charged with inflicting great bodily injury under circumstances of domestic violence and use of a knife as a deadly weapon according to KTLA.

His bail has been set at $1.2 million.
